A large and dramatic rustic-modernist carving. The terms "tray" or "bowl" don't really do it justice; it's more a piece of sculpture. Found in the Pacific Northwest, and definitely in the 1970s West Coast style exemplified by J. B. Blunk and his contemporaries. Redwood, or possibly Western redcedar. Magnificent grain and patina. 37" long by 13" wide. Ideal for arranging whatever comes your way, or for serving charcuterie, etc.
The sculpture in the third picture is "Concretion," by Nancy Mintz.
