Armored Seltzer Bottle
Selzer bottles come in all shapes, but this mid-20th century version (made by Industria Argentina for the Seltz Water Co., Inc., of Miami, Florida) is truly unusual. The very heavy, 32-ounce, aquamarine glass bottle is almost entirely clad in aluminum armor, to help it survive the vicissitudes of life behind the bar. There are little windows in the cladding, so that one could check on the seltzer level (or fizziness), presumably. Makes an awesome Machine Age / Streamline Moderne / Art Deco / Industrial vase!
