Craftsman Portrait

$30.00
sold out

Grumpy old men! They do play an outsized roll in our lives , don't they? Once again, they are poised to decide the fate of millions… We can only hope that they show the wisdom and compassion that we expect from our elders, not the anger and resentment that so often stalks the country of old men.

(UPDATE 8/21/24: One less Grumpy Old Man to worry about!)

This late 19th- or early 20th century carving really captures these complex emotions. It's about the size of a book end, and perhaps that was its intended use. One hopes its long lost mate had an expression of Buddha-like serenity! A Craftsman-style artist's chop is carved into the base. An intriguing object! In the Found Objects section of our website.
