Ancient Japanese Fishing Creel
A traditional Japanese fisherman’s basket creel, with a lot of patina and personality! Original twined cord with slipknot, for carrying. The weavers (horizontal elements) are very fine bamboo strips. On the delicate side, with some loss, but it could still be used as an ikebana basket. Likely Taisho Period, but possibly older.
