Foundry Slag Scholar's Rock
We are charmed by this ragged, spontaneous, little "scholar's rock," made from a piece of foundry slag. We imagine that someone working in a foundry saw its aesthetic potential, brought it home, and mounted it on a piece of wood. It seems to combine the aesthetics of ancient Chinese gongshi with the innocence of outsider art. Found in rural Washington State.
6" tall.
