Heerwagen Fish Dish

$40.00

Charming stoneware dish by Danish potters Erling and Karin Heerwagen. Sweet, googly-eyed fish motif in navy over a white underglaze, with the rim left unglazed. The Heerwagens worked with noted Danish sculptor Bjorn Wiinblad in the 1960's, starting their own studio on the island of Langeland in 1968. They still produce their quirky and collectible pottery there, as well as humorous figural (often life-size) ceramic sculpture.
