Five Lacquer Mame-Zara
Five small plates (mame-zara, 豆皿), made of lacquered wood. It’s always good to have plenty of tiny plates on hand when setting the table for a traditional Japanese meal (Ichiju Sansai). These plates can be used for condiments like soy sauce and wasabi, or for garnishes like minced green onion, grated ginger, et cetera. Also perfect for plating small, perfect servings in a kaiseki (small plate) dinner. Lacquerware is resistant to alcohol and other liquids, but don’t put your lacquerware in a dishwasher!
Set of five mame-zara, each 5 1/8” wide 1” tall.
