Marion Bolton Drawing (Spider)
Marion Bolton (born 1961) works much like a scientific illustrator, studying reference photographs for the finer details of her plant and animal subjects. However, she often departs from mere representation, playing with proportion and adding colors which may or may not appear in nature. The artist has worked at Creative Growth since 1999. Some recent exhibitions featuring her work include: Inter-Avant-Garde, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Lincoln (2020); Outsider Art Fair, New York (2019); Visual Oasis: Works from Creative Growth, Carson City (2018); and Margins to Mainstream, Sonoma County Museum, Santa Rosa (2013).
Graphite and pastel on paper, 11” x 15”. Signed on verso. Part of the proceeds from the sale of this piece will benefit Creative Growth.
