Plaited Bamboo Tray
Exquisite plaited bamboo tray, Japan, mid-20th century. The craftperson has carefully stripped the bamboo, and woven it in such a way as to highlight the delicate joints between the segments. Can be used fir floral ikebana, such as a persimmon branch, holding one persimmon. Or perhaps or for holding three stones (see example). The possibilities are limitless!
