Rustic Buddha

$120.00

A rustic but peaceful statuette of a faintly smiling Buddha, about nine inches tall. It appears to be carved from teak, and seems to be missing some parts (there is a socket for the right forearm, and two more on the sides). The overarching “canopy” was repaired at some point, with what looks like some type of resin. There are faint traces of a white pigment, orange lacquer, and gilding. The use of teak suggests an origin in Southeast Asia. Any input from more knowledgeable persons is very welcome!
