Smoke-Fired Vessel #2
Large vessel or vase with a folded or pinched neck, by an unknown (to me) Northwest potter. This piece has been bisque fired, then subject to a secondary smoke firing. The technique can be risky, since the potter never really knows what is going to happen! Similar to the work of UK ceramicist Bridget Johnson, and French-American ceramicist Carole Neilson.
