Tiny Takosubo Set

$80.00

A set of three tiny takosubo, or octopus pots (traps). Takosubo are usually much larger, but these ones were used to catch baby octopuses for making the popular street snack tako tamago — glazed and grilled baby octopus stuffed with quail eggs (see image). These particular examples are quite old, made from wild clay, and pinched into shape by hand. Extraordinarily special and rare.
